this is the jam!

I've been watching your world from afar,
I've been trying to be where you are,
And I've been secretly falling apart,
I'll see.
To me, you're strange and you're beautiful,
You'd be so perfect with me but you just can't see,
You turn every head but you don't see me.

I'll put a spell on you,
You'll fall asleep and I'll put a spell on you.
And when I wake you,
I'll be the first thing you see,
And you'll realize that you love me.

Yeah...
Yeah...

Sometimes, the last thing you want comes in first,
Sometimes, the first thing you want never comes,
And I know, the waiting is all you can do,
Sometimes...

I'll put a spell on you,
You'll fall asleep,
I'll put a spell on you,
And when I wake you,
I'll be the first thing you see,
And you'll realize that you love me.

I'll put a spell on you,
You'll fall asleep 'cos I'll put a spell on you,
And when I wake you,
I'll be the first thing you see,
And you'll realize that you love me, yeah...

~ Aqualung - Strange and Beautiful

So this was the song I fell asleep to, and then I woke up to it. So now it's stuck in my head. Beautiful, sad, hopeful, kinda weird. Yeah, I guess that would describe it.

C'est tout. Maintenant, je vais au gym pour regarder des filles (peut-ĂȘtre je vais me blesser encore une fois).

Read with Canadian Accent eh

OK, to give the pic below some relevance, I was in Vancouver, BC for dragonboat races eh. We, LARD, took first place in Recreation A (we're in red in lane 9, yeah...we're awesome). There are 3 divisions above us but they don't count coz they're on steroids and get air time on ESPN 8 The Ocho. Yup, so Vancouver was awesome, the entire weekend was awesome, and my vacation of sorts was awesome. I would still like to vacation some more in the next couple of month since I just found out that I won't be off for summer break until June 30, 2006!!! 2006!!!!! WTFawkin eh!!!

On a lighter note, I've lost another 5 lbs. in the last month bringing the total to 15 in the past 2 or so months. I haven't noticed the weight loss aside from all my pants/shorts are big and falling down. Which brings me to my gripe about work...I'm not wearing shorts and sandals like usual (sad face). OH! Another sad thing...some folks, I won't name names *cough* Beth *cough* said my hugs were not as good as before (extra sad face) although others have said they're as good as ever (happy face), which to me means, the BEST. If you're lucky, you can be the judge.

OOH, on another note, I finally found a local hole in the wall with carne asade fries...mmm good. This is part of the TDo diet required for weight loss, although, I'm not really trying to lose weight. I'm just trying to get into a shape other than round coz I'm fat eh.

OOOH, another healthy/unhealthy addiction...I present to you sudoku! My mom and I race to finish these! Some take longer than others...It took me 7 hours to finish one, but it was coz I was at work and busy.

It's a new day indeed

Wow, I've been saying how I needed to start studying again to prepare myself for school but I never followed through on it...until today! I'm so proud of myself that I should reward myself with a mp3 player so I have narrowed it down to 3. Please help me decide although I think I've already settled on one and since I'm asian, I'm stubborn. So here's the list:

1) Ipod. How could you talk about mp3 players without mentioning the king. Easiest to use, itunes is friggin awesome, and that click wheel is bomb diggity.
2) Toshiba Gigabeat F20. t-for tdo touchpad. good support for different kinds of files. sexy black aluminum casing, not quite as sexy as iAudio though. drag and drop files. huge 2.2" lcd. http://www.gigabeat.com
3) iAudio x5. Friggin awesome feature-laden toy. can play videos, pics, fm radio, recorder. But stupid system uses folders and junk like that, no id3 tags. sexy black casing though. oh, but what really bothers me is the headphone jack isn't on top, it sticks out to the side. boo on that. http://www.cowonamerica.com/products/iaudio/x5/

OK, back to biochem. hooray for enzymes!

my name in Viet means success. random, I know

Woohoo for half-day at work! Oh wait, I have a half-day (4 hrs) everyday so I actually had a quarter-day (2 hrs, for the math-impaired) of work!

Now for more randomness + (how they got in my head):

-"You are my, SUN-SHINE! my only, SUN-SHINE! you make me, HAP-PY! when skies are, GRAY!" I can't remember the rest of the song...(I saw this FPoBA episode last night)

-in the kingdom of second guessing, I would be king. Man, if only...dang, I should've...dutch. (from SBTB with the "what I should've said theatre")

-congrats to all the grads of '05. (Reb's graduation)

-for those interested in random for trivia's sake: a wombat is a burrowing marsupial (I have rediscovered http://www.bestcrosswords.com) If you would like to challenge me, complete any of the casual crosswords and tell me your score & which puzzle. I bet I won't beat you cuz I'm dumb like that.

-I'm hungry, but it won't last long.

Even I can only take so much boredom...

What do you do when boredom can no longer be appeased by the usual tv, video games, spider solitaire, etc??? My boredom has reached a new plateau here. Somebody help this brotha out, I'm literally dying here. Surely, someone wants to go play (on the cheap cuz i'm broke)...

Read with British Accent...

NYU Update: So I called the bloody school to see what the hell is going on with housing for orientation week. This bloke (is that derogatory?) tells me that I'll be able to move in the day before orientation since I'm a "special dental student". That roughly translates to: "We'll give you special privileges since we're makin so much damn money off of you and we'll be raping you for the next 4 years"- all said with that bloody NY accent. So, the move-in date is 21-08-2005.

Other news: I bought 4 tix to Coldplay's Twisted Logic Tour for Saturday, 3 Sept. 2005 @ PNC Bank Arts Center in, what will become my armpit, New Jersey. So if you want one of these tix, you better put dibs on them. I can't wait to see them again, albeit this time I will be even further away from the stage than last time @ Coachella coz I have lawn tix. I'll try to get tix to their shows in NYC but we'll see about that.

Time for work folks. Cheers bub!

First Blog Ever

So after I set up my homepage with NYU, I decided that I would blog. In part, cuz everyone else is doing it, also, to keep those less (or more) fortunate updated with what I'm up to (which isn't much). And I intend on keeping it up once I'm in NY, but we'll see about that. Those of you who know me know I don't have much to say, but maybe I can muster a few more words, eh I doubt it. Or, I can trade spoken words for blog-words. So let's hope it's a succesful blog and show me some love dammit!
