Circus in the City

Went to the Big Apple Circus because it was free for NYU Dental (must've been part of our tuition). We saw clowns, horses, dogs, and chinese. Yes, chinese, the obligatory chinese acrobats. But the highlight of the night were the lil dogs that could walk on their hind legs or their front legs. And then the best one was the backflipping dog, it kept flipping in one place! Awesome! On top of free "dinner" as in sandwiches, chips, water, soda, popcorn, and COTTON CANDY!!! ALL "FREE"!!!

Then we went to Tonic Bar. Packed like a mofo. There, we drank (of course) because my name is TDo, and I'm an alcoholic ("Hi TDo"). But here, is where we saw the most stylin, hip dude in NYC. He straight wore sunglasses at night! Corey Hart's "I wear my sunglasses at night" style!!! I'm sorry if that's cool because that I am not, but he looked hilarious and like an idiot!!!

So apparently, the only explanation if I'm in a particularly good mood is if I've met with my good friend, ethanol. Great! Tis not true, and I plan on proving that wrong, I'm going dry, for however long it takes to convince y'all.

I made it through my first series of midterms alive and passing. Did well in some, did enough in others (biochem) and looking to whoop up on the practical today where I get to carve a tooth and show them how it's done (hopefully). However, I have realized my approach has been wrong. My original approach was to work really hard in the lab to make sure I have the necessary hand/eye skills and then do enough in the science classes to just pass (because C's gets degrees). But after having made it through the first set of grueling midterms, I've realized that I can do better and I should do better. I should be excelling in all aspects although in the end, what's important is that I know the material and have the necessary skills to treat patients well. So, now I will work hard in all aspects and strive for that A as long as it doesn't hinder my playtime too much. I've always considered myself an optimist but since starting school I think I may have tried to repress that a bit, but I'm glad to say...it's back!!!

yeah, so definitely sitting in epidemiology lecture blogging after a long and grueling biochem test this morning. they have some nerve giving us a test from 8-10, and then following that up with more lecture, 3 hours of it. Tonight is beer night, followed by more studying for the next tests.

on another note. while surfing in some of the other classes, I read the usual, qc, and ran into the new Pintsize rockin and jumpin off amp tshirt. bombdiggity.

ok. time to pay attention since there are only about 40 of us in here.

where's the tooth fairy?!?!?!

I carved my first tooth today! Out of blue wax...this would've been a good time to have a camera...I'll take it with my camera-phone, let me know if you wanna see my masterpieceofshit. It's actually quite hideous I think. But whatever, it was a passing tooth. Nap time! Maybe the tooth fairy will give me money for the wax tooth...I hear the going rate is $5/tooth.

What a night last night was. It is now 12:30 saturday night/sunday morning and I was just filled in on what exactly transpired last night. So I thought I'd clue some of you in on what happened and why I was the way I was at the end of the night/morning, whatever you want to call it (it was still dark). So we went to play beer pong and other drinking games at Jess' place. Then made our way to the HiFi Bar, Duvet, and Tribeca Cinemas bar. I didn't even remember Duvet until they clued me in tonight. Thankfully, Christina who left tribeca a couple minutes before me found out I left and she made her taxi loop around to get me cuz I didn't know where I was and could barely stand (I didn't make it far from the door). And that brought me to my computer last night (I only remember that because when I woke up and I read the illegible messages I sent). I hope you guys got a laugh from that...anyways, sleepin early tonight so I can study and stuff tomorrow.
